Miami Beach's oceanfront hotels can't serve alcohol on beach

The days of enjoying a piña colada beneath an umbrella on the shores of Miami Beach may be over.

The city's attorney has advised officials that beach front hotels are not allowed to sell or serve alcoholic drinks to customers on the beach.

Although hotels regularly peddle tropical drinks through oceanfront concession stands and waiters ferrying libations to sunbathers on lounge chairs, City Attorney Jose Smith says that's against the law.

The city's laws grant alcohol sales on public land only if the city manager or city commission have given a vendor permission. Smith said he was not aware of any such exception.

However this policy will not affect the sale of alcohol on a hotel's property like poolside bars.

Anyways, with the economy touching bottom,...Miami Beach is the number one tourist attraction in South Florida, and source of million of dollars a year in revenue just because the tourism, not only from all over U.S but from around the world as well.

Now with this City Ordinance,Miami Beach are  telling the tourist, they can't drink at the beach...I don't get it,anyways if I decide to take a vacation i am gone to make sure not to go to South Beach, instead this are my options for pretty much the same money...(or less).

On all these beautiful beaches besides the breathtaking locations, you can also enjoy your Piña Colada or Margarita, with no problems or be afraid to be arrested for drinking at the beach.

Well this only happens here...in Miami, and this is the way i see it.

Until the next time
